Aug. 30th, 2005 08:01 pmGot my passport yesterday. Week earlier than they said I would get it, but we also expected a huge line at the passport office which turned out to be a line of one.
Been editing more Wikipedia entries. This time, animated Garfield and Peanuts specials. I think I got almost all of the blank Peanuts entries filled (I can't believe I've seen so many of them!) and there are a couple of blank Garfield ones that I can fill in (fortunately, I've seen both). I'll probably finish off tonight or tomorrow and start working on other entries.
Found out through a friend that Heather and Loxley weathered the hurricane. Only a few missing shingles and debris. Unfortunately, no power or internet access, but at least they're in Jackson, MS, so they'll probably get power a lot sooner than they would if they lived in nowhere-land.
One of the techies responsible for HiRezFox figured out what the problem was with the auto-updater and logged into the server to fix it. It's working fine, now.
In other techie news, I got a laptop pad with fans in it that suck warm air from underneath the computer and vent it away. It's doing a pretty good job, but my left palm is still a bit warm and sticky.
I'm thinking of making my next computer an Apple iBook with 12.1-inch monitor. I was investigating, and a lot of the stuff looks pretty good. As long as I don't have to install Internet Exploder for IE-only pages, I'll be all right. Might have to install RealPlayer, though, because I've tried iTunes, and I don't like their album organization. I end up with songs in different places or with weird names or separated into two albums of the same name, and I can't correct them. Looks like it will cost a bit less, too, which is helpful.
