My day

It was a very empty, relaxing day. No exams, no studying. I could just lie back and relax.

Spent a lot of the time transferring files and installing programs on my Mac. It's been sitting way too long. Still a few things to fix up--need to get OpenOffice set up to use the fonts I want. Might have to use NeoOffice instead; it's like OpenOffice, but based on an older version. It'll still work, but it's not the same (I hate the interface on older OO versions). I'm still getting used to the Mac keyboard, and still need my Windoze laptop for a few things, but once I'm done with school files, I'll need it less and less.

My mother helped one of my friends from grade school propose to his girlfriend. The girlfriend works at a used CD store, and my mother brought in a set of specially-chosen CDs to lead her on a trail to where she'd be proposed to. My mother was proud of the fact that she was able to lie through her teeth without blinking XD

Got my first Christmas card of the year from an online friend. Special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] paranoidpanther :)

We got the annual Christmas letter from my father's cousin-something-removed's family in Kent and found out that my great-uncle on my paternal grandfather's side has been dead for two months and we had no idea. Just shows how close the family is. We get one letter a year and never hear from them again until the next letter. My father's family isn't big on communication--we have no idea how many relatives are alive, dead, or recently born. Kinda sad.

Going to the movies tomorrow with my mother, in keeping with my reputation as a mama's boy. We're either going to see Rent or Pride and Prejudice. We're going to see Harry Potter later on, since it'll probably be in theatres a lot longer. It's a good season for movies: Harry Potter, Rent, and Pride and Prejudice are open now, and December will bring King Kong and The Producers. Looking forward to seeing The Producers!

Th-th-th-th-th-th-th-that's all folks!
