Feb. 5th, 2006 07:58 pmHanded in a resume, filled out an application. Don't expect them to reply in a million years--they never do. Oh, well. It's only two hundredths of a cent worth of paper. Got a haircut afterwards; it's nice and short now.
It was a full weekend. Managed to get all my reading done, shoveled part of the driveway (got a real hammering of snow this weekend), flipped my car floor mats over to be "winter"-side up, emptied the garbage bag in the car, found my missing registration sticker and put it on the registration paper, filled my washer fluid reservoir (using about half a jug of fluid), and plugged my car in so it can spend the night in the driveway. My mother's driver's side door doesn't always close when it's really cold, so it needs to spend the night in the garage. Also had a shower and shaved. Whenever I shave outside the shower, I always cut up my chin because the skin isn't soft enough.
I got the essay topics for my Imperialism paper. One of them is about how technology changed the way Britain ruled their eastern Empire, so I think I'm going to focus on the railway and Empire--maybe something with the Cape to Cairo Railway idea that Rhodes had. I always liked the thought of that plan. Still need to figure something out for Reformation, and study for my English and Imperialism midterms.
