Did my first day of orientation. Wasn't too bad. Mostly just lecturing and looking through booklets. Simple stuff. Got a couple of 15-minute breaks and an hour-long lunch break. On average I'm only going to have about 20 hours per week, which is nice. Plenty of free time.

The quiz tournament my mother went to in Windsor went well. They were in the top ten of about fifty tables. The prizes were lousy, though, and a lot of the other tables were cheating with text messaging. The table nearest my mother was listening to my mother's answers so they started whispering answers and saying outright lies at normal voices. My mother freaked everyone out with the number of answers she gave and a couple that she wrote down for later on when they only knew the categories, and others that she just predicted out of nowhere. She's gifted XD

I'm watching an episode of the mystery series Maigret, starring Michael Gambon as Paris police inspector Maigret (coincidentally, an earlier adaptation of the stories starred Richard Harris).

It's amazing how a show set in Paris can have English street signs and not a single character with a French accent.
