Sep. 6th, 2006 01:06 pmWell, like I said, I'm back. Came home to find out that TigerLily left a couple of welcome home presents on my glass desk and glass bookcase. Fortunately both were empty at the time and are easy to clean.
Spent the last night before coming home in Middle-o'-nowhere, Ohio, in a cheap hotel that had no internet access so I watched Destiny of the Daleks on my laptop instead.
Ended up not going to dinner last night, not that I mind much. I start work tomorrow at 9:30, yippie. School starts on Monday; I'm actually looking forward to that more than I am to going back to work.
I've spent most of the day so far reading Wikipedia entries and news stories. Apparently, now that Heathrow is stepping up security, people are leaving their laptops behind after having them inspected.
...
HOW DO YOU LEAVE YOUR LAPTOP BEHIND?! I could never do something like that--it's my lifeline! Whenever I'm travelling with my laptop, I know where it is at all times!
And for the Agatha Christie fans, there is a slight crisis. ITV is thinking about cancelling production of the Hercule Poirot TV adaptations. And there's only a few novels and stories left to produce. There are two being discussed about for next year, but apparently those are in limbo. There's an online petition with about 2000 signatures on it to keep the show--sign if you're interested!
