Home for lunch
Feb. 10th, 2007 02:29 pmIt's been a tiring day. No annoying or rude customers, but a couple that you just have to laugh or else you case a case of the stupids XD
And now for our top story, for the last few days we've been enjoying the company of a young black cat with a tiny fleck of white fur on its neck (a bit like Oreo, but with much less white). At first it would eat dry cat food that we threw out for the starlings, then we started feeding it regular food. It was almost swallowing it whole, that's how quickly it ate.
It started coming more often and eating more and more, and we thought it was just a compulsive eater (it seemed to be in too good shape to be a stray, though it was quite scared of us at first). However, last night, we got it to eat just inside the back door and came to a couple of conclusions.
First, it's a female--we weren't sure about that at first.
Second, she's been starting to look a bit pudgy in the middle because, to put it biblically, she is 'great with child'!
So now we get to figure out how to get a cat that's scared of us and all the other cats to have its kittens somewhere warm and comfortable in our yard or house. Should be interesting.
