BBC Radio 4 has an interesting program archived in their listen again section for the rest of the week.

"Sun, Spots, and Spoor." It chronicles a project in Namibia to take a census of sorts of the country's cheetah population. Haven't listened to it yet, but it sounds promising.

Well, can't name the one black and white kitten Elinor any more. Turns out it's an outie, not an innie. So what to call him now: Bingley? Darcy? I was told once that Darcy is Welsh for dark, so it would fit.

Had to get up at 7 to go to my first class, Modern European Women, which was held today at the Guelph Civic Museum. The topic was the role of fashion in the lives of 19th and 20th century women, and items from the Museum's extensive fashion collection were available to be tried on. No Rocky Horrors though--they had a couple of coats for the three males in the class to try on. One girl tried on a whalebone corset and a couple other undergarments (over her clothes). Upon remarking on how tight it was, the Museum guide informed her that it was probably a bit large on her. I know women do crazy things for fashion these days, but high heels are no match for corsets! O-o

Handed in my paper for Revolution in the Modern World today. 3700 words, written from 8 AM yesterday morning to 2:30 AM early this morning (with interruptions for food and a class--and yes, I did get up at 7). I procrastinate, waste time, and avoid work until the last minute, but I'll say this about my excuse for a work ethic: I've never handed anything in late.

I've got a five-minute presentation and four-page report due on Friday about the Welsh settlements in southern Argentina--shouldn't be too difficult considering I've got both tomorrow and Friday morning off from work.
