Haven't written in a while
May. 13th, 2008 01:19 amNot much has been going on lately. Pretty much home-work-home-work-home....
On Friday, I noticed a form on my volunteer supervisor's desk at the Museum, describing an internship position with the School of Media Studies at Humber College. This led to discussing the possibility of me doing an internship at the Museum for my diploma. Since nobody from Humber has interned there before, they'll have to discuss with my dean to find out how best to accommodate me, if possible. I'm hoping this will work out; if I could go in with an internship already set up, it would save a lot of time and bother.
Today was take it easy day. Woke up to the information that two of our youngest, Nibs and Tabs (two of the litter born here), accidentally spent the night on the balcony in the back of our house. They scratched at the bathroom window all night in the pouring rain, trying to get in through the pet door we have in the screen. When my mother opened the screen in the morning, it just plopped out because they'd scratched the screen apart. They got a good towel rub and spent the day sleeping and all was well.
Got a quick podiatrist's appointment today to take care of the calluses on my toes (standing for eight hours a day is murder on the feet). He also decided to trim down my toenails, accidentally gouging one of my toes in the process to get a nail that had curved in. Put some cotton in and taped it up until tomorrow, then sanded the other nails with a sandpaper tool in a Dremel, the sight of which creeps me out every time I'm in his office.
After that, I went shopping, first with my mother, then on my own. I went to The Bay (the Canadian equivalent of Macy's, but with a centuries-old parent company) at one of the local malls and got five polo shirts, spending nearly 250 dollars in the process despite discounts. Thankfully, I have the money to burn--I got my 560-dollar tax return transferred into my account overnight.
The rest of the day consisted of TV, including a Waiting for God repeat, an episode of the BBC Antiques Roadshow, and a cleverly-written episode of House. The End XD
