Healing...
Aug. 7th, 2008 10:58 pmI think my holes have almost completely healed. I still have a tiny bit of stitch left in my upper right gum, but that's all that's left. I just hope I can start feeling in my lower lip and chin again soon. It should happen within the next couple days.
On the topic of healing, for the praying types on here, send out some prayers for Heather, known here as
usdutchkitty. Things were going well for her, then turned really lousy. She was hospitalized due to her Crohn's Disease, then operated on to remove another eleven inches of intestine and her appendix. She was starting to recover, then everything went to Hell again when she had a blood clot show up in her lung. I quote her journal, filled out courtesy of
goodluckfox:
They put in an inferior vena cava filter to try and prevent future blood clots. Her father didn't think to ask about the blood clot in her lungs... understandable, I suppose. He's pretty frazzled. Presumably the clot is gone.
The tissues swelled where here intestines were joined, and it caused them to come apart, dumping whatever into her body cavity.
They've repaired the damage, cleaned her out, gave her a temporary colostomy and installed a drain, have her on a respirator and she's going to be sedated for a couple of days. They're going to try to get her kidneys going again with a couple of rounds of dialysis. Their top infectious disease doctor is going to be working on her.
Let's hope and pray that this is the last of it for a while, say, the next eighty years! :(
