Oh what a night, you know I didn't even know her name!

Just back from the wedding (on my Blackberry); they both said I do!

The wedding ceremony was nice; it was in an old Catholic church outside Windsor that's sort of the family church. Our family must own half the cemetery, and my great-great-grandparents were married on the site.

Went to my aunt and uncle's place after for some snacks, then back into Windsor for the reception. Filled my face, then, with another aunt's encouragement, did something I've never done before.

I danced.

I've never danced before, so I wasn't very good. Fortunately, it was all modern stuff so nobody knew the difference. It must have been good enough for my cousin Wesley's girlfriend, because she kept pulling me onto the dance floor whenever I sat down to rest. I even got a kiss on the cheek for my efforts! We danced three or four times, twice just us. Wesley was completely wasted and/or baked, so he was out of commission pretty early.

So, even though I was moping through most of the wedding, the second day of my 24th year turned out to be not so bad after all. Hopefully it was a good omen; even if it wasn't, I won't complain!

Back to Port Credit

I'm back in my home away from home, on my daybed and watching the Emmys. Mad Men appears to be a repeat.

Must say, I had a very fun weekend. My 23rd birthday, my cousin's wedding, my first dancing, and my first dance with a woman I wasn't related to all in the span of two days. I have a feeling the photo of me dancing cheek to cheek with my cousin Adam may come back to haunt me, though!

Just checked my calendar, and I'll be able to advance vote on a Friday, October 3rd. This works well for me, because I can't vote on the actual election day--I'll be out here, and I can't drive at least an hour each way just to spend five seconds putting an X in a circle or connecting a line.
