Nov. 5th, 2008 09:26 pmThe discomfort has started to set in. Thankfully, it's mimicking a swollen sinus, so it's not as if it's something I can't cope with.
I'm still on food I can't swallow whole, so breakfast today consisted of a banana sliced very thinly. I should be able to survive on sliced bananas, soup, cream of wheat, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, and egg noodles with butter for the time being. After my pores close and I'm resistant to staining, I'll be able to expand my diet to spaghetti and meatballs (no tomato sauce) and macaroni and cheese (I don't trust the fake cheese they include with it) so I won't completely starve to death.
I realized today that it will probably be easier to eat solid food before my treatment ends because of the condition of my bottom teeth. There isn't as much change needed for the bottom teeth; they're a bit crooked in the front, but it feels like they're straightening out already. On the top, however, I have a front tooth that grew in behind an incisor, so that will take more work. If I'm right, the bottom braces should be gone in no time and I'll be able to chew again. Here's hoping!
