Good-bye, and good riddance!
There were a few high points to the year. Most notably were my graduation from university in June, visiting a huge group of friends in West Virginia (all of them the folks my parents warned me about!) in July, and starting classes at Humber College in September. All enjoyable and entertaining occasions in my life.
However, there was too much crap going on towards the end for this to have qualified as a good year--and I'm not talking about the economy. Someone I trusted more than any other human being suddenly revealed herself to be an unapologetic liar, all the hints and suggestions and professions of love being, in fact, completely untrue. But you know what? I'm tired of caring. I'll probably still care and mope long into the future, but I'm tired of caring. She obviously doesn't. I can do better. Hopefully I WILL do better some day soon. Don't know who, but I can't wait to find out!
Welcome, 2009! May you be a damned sight better than 2008!
