Long day...
Mar. 17th, 2009 11:51 pmToday, my second class, Media Management, was replaced by a field trip to the former CHUM-City Building downtown, now one of several buildings used by CTV for its programming. Not the most educational of field trips, but it was a fun change to my routine.
After that, I went on a little walking tour of the area, going from there down to Union Station, around Skydome/Rogers Centre to see the remains of the railway facilities that used to serve Union Station, over to a small bookstore I like called Nicholas Hoare Books to browse. After that, I walked up Yonge Street to The Bay to do some shopping--bought five shirts for just over a hundred dollars. In that time, I must have walked at least four kilometres. My legs are already mad at me.
Finally, I had a quick dinner and hopped on the subway for home. Had an interesting passenger for much of my trip on the Bloor-Danforth line. I couldn't see much of his face because he was wearing a baseball cap and a hooded sweatshirt, but what I could see looked like it had been hit with a brick. A woman asked him if he was okay, but he only asked for money for ice. She offered him something else (I couldn't quite hear what), but he refused and went to another part of the car.
He got off at Ossington, and I started wondering whether it was a good idea to tell TTC Police about him. I didn't have to, though; a couple minutes later the conductor peeked out of his compartment and checked the car, telling someone on the phone that he wasn't there. One passenger told him that the guy got off at Ossington, and I pointed out a drop of blood he left behind, in case they wanted to swab it for DNA. And that was the end of that.
All in all, a full rich day!
