Better than Dubai!

Now here's a huge turnaround; rather than mooring the now-retired Cunard liner Queen Elizabeth 2 in Dubai, its owners are considering mooring it near the Victoria and Albert Waterfront tourist site in Cape Town!

They're still planning to make it a luxury hotel, this time in South Africa--a location that I think is much more suitable. Somewhere on her birthplace (the river Clyde in Glasgow) would have been nice, but this is a good consolation prize.

Now to get the Queen Mary in Long Beach turning a profit...

Some of my idiot neighbours are setting off firecrackers for some stupid reason. Probably liquidating their inventory from Canada Day. You'd think they'd at least have the decency to wait another four days for Bastille Day.
