And now the not-so-good news...
Jan. 4th, 2011 11:58 pmOur vet examined Max. His tail is a write-off; he had too much damage so they're removing it next week. The vet figures it will make a nice key fob.
They want his strength to be built up a bit before taking a look at his fractured pelvis; that will most likely need surgery so it can be broken and re-set. They figure he was hit by a car and dragged through the wheel well, explaining the cut around his tail and the breaks. It must have happened right when he disappeared because he's gotten used to walking (hobbling really) with the fractures. It's a miracle he made it home at all!
On the bright side, his organs are all functioning normally so we aren't going to fix him up just to have to put him down after. Which is a good thing, because it's already pricey and it's going to get worse.
Back to work today; ho-hum.
