First rule of being a tin-pot dictator:

Always pay your soldiers!

Zimbabwean soldiers have been rioting after not being paid for days. This on top of 500+ cholera deaths, thousands more sick from cholera and anthrax, starvation, lack of water, and government uncertainty.

Listen to the bells, Mugabe--they toll for thee! And about damned time, too. He should have gone to the old rebel's home a decade and a half ago and retired with a shred of dignity.

To all those who whined and complained about stolen elections in our country, please have a look at the history of Rhodesia. Then you'll see what a stolen election really looks like.

If the folks presiding over the peace negotiations after the bush war had had any sense, Mugabe would have been locked up and Ian Smith would have been his cell mate. Between the two of them, that country has been destroyed.

You mean Namibia? Or is that part of your point?

I think you mean Zimbabwe. Namibia is a totally different tin-pot dictatorship. And I think he used Rhodesia because that was the name of the country when everything started going wrong. Just went from there.

So much for my memory of social studies. I thought it was Namibia that used to be Rhodesia, but my sources say you're right.
