Jan. 8th, 2006 08:38 pmWell, it's my last day of freedom. Tomorrow I get up to go to school for the first day of the Winter semester. I'm there on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30 to 5:30 with three hours' break, and for one class on Tuesday and Thursday. Should be an interesting semester. I've got my tuition paid, but I need to get my meal plan and books paid for. I'll be selling one of my old books, so that's seventy dollars covered, and I've already got two of my books, so that's a savings of another eighty or ninety. Plus I think I might be able to get my books for one class used and cheap; I'll have to look into that further. The only thing about next semester that concerns me is the essays. I hate writing essays from scratch, so hopefully we'll have a list to choose from. I know we do for one class, but I don't know anything about the other classes.
On Thursday we got a garage door opener installed on our side of the garage. Now we don't have to get out of the car to open the door--very helpful on winter mornings, when I don't even feel like getting out of bed! We paid for it using the money from the satellite radios my father gave us that we had him return.
On Friday I read the first Harry Potter book--in about four hours. Don't know what it is, but I always breeze through the books in that series, no matter how long they are. It's taking me a bit longer to read the second book; When I saw the second movie, I didn't like it as much as the first, and it seems like I feel the same way about the second book. Can't explain it. So far, I've read the first, fourth, fifth, and sixth books, with the second and third to go.
I just e-mailed someone who runs an agency delivering catalogues and newspapers. They need someone to deliver catalogues for Sears once or twice a month. We have between Saturday and Wednesday to deliver them; don't know what the pay is like. Hopefully this place will reply and the job will work out--anything to not have to work in a factory or flipping burgers.
I think that's about all. I'm going to go back to reading or have a shower. Good night and good news.
