...when you can tell which way the wind is blowing because you can smell the deep fryer from the Frito-Lay plant on Bishop Street. I think they must have changed the grease recently.
We've spent the last two days going all over the Lakeshore area of Toronto to find a place for me to stay in September. I was put on a waiting list for a dorm room on-campus, so now I need to find any bedroom I can in whatever wartime house or student house I can find. There are a few seedy ones and a few good ones, but I've only heard back from two--and one of those was to tell me it was full. Right now, my best bet is the Port Credit area of Mississauga, a short distance from the old Lakeview electrical plant and a nose-whiff from the water treatment plant. At least it's only ten minutes away, though.
It was rainy while I was at work today, and I mean rainy. It was coming down so hard, the drops were actually triggering the automatic doors and making them open without anyone standing there. Pounding rain, strong winds, and loud thunder. It was incredible! *pings
marbled_genet* Unfortunately, my bedroom window was open at the time >_<
The turtle in our pond discovered that there's an even bigger pond a short walk away--our pool! It was swimming around and having a grand old time. We'll have to be very careful to make sure it only happens under controlled circumstances to avoid certain disaster, though; it's a steep ledge from sidewalk to water level for a turtle.
And so to bed...
