I've blocked her from my life for about a month, now, and she's still following my journal. So either she hasn't noticed that I've kicked her out of my life (which I doubt; I said it pretty clearly) or she doesn't care (which, sadly, wouldn't surprise me).

This begs the question: why do I care?! The bitch has strung me along, kept me hanging, and made promise after promise (each of which she's yet to keep) for quite some time, but I keep checking to see if she's still following my journal. Her claws are still stuck in me.

Reading this makes me remember one of the last times we talked; I spent part of the night trying to convince her she wasn't a slut. Maybe she was right. Maybe I should have seen that as a warning, rather than as her in a bad mood.

The simplest solution if you don't want someone reading your journal is to set the minimum post settings to "friends only." It could simply be that the person in question simply hasn't bothered to remove you. Does she comment on your entries?

Thankfully, no. I'll probably set it to friends-only eventually; it would save time, I'll grant that.

You may find this tool very useful.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that function's for paying customers; I've spent enough money on account of her :P

Point. I tend to forget that, because I maintain a paid account.

Yep, the best things in life you have to pay for. Oh, well. If going friends only doesn't get the point across, nothing will, so I can be content with that.

Don't sweat it. One thing I've found is that it's extremely hard to get someone out of your mind so soon. It's been -- what, a year? -- for me and I still have those lovely bouts of wishful thinking.

Only advice I can give you is to develop a quick case of apathy, mate. Helps more than anything else.

A year, plus about four years of friendship/flirting before that--makes it worse.

Ah, apathy--my second-best friend after my laptop.

Haven't heard from you for a while; how have things been?

Oh no, m'friend. A year since my breakup. (More of a mutual split than anything else.) There was about three to four years of relationship preceding that, and a year of friendship.

And things've been good. I'm still plugging away at my courses here at Guelph. Hoping I finish my degree before the end of next year, going over that would make me very unhappy. And trying to get back into honours. Oy. Good times, good times.

Ah, now I see. Sorry to hear that!

Yeah, I know what you mean about finishing by a certain time. I started at the OAC, but transferred to history after a year. Had to sacrifice a few classes I wanted to take so I could meet my requirements and still be gone before I turned 40 XD

Remind me which degree you're aiming for?

Bachelor of Computing. My main thing now is getting all the 3rd year credits in. Should be able to do it, if I make sure to not fail any more classes. I can't afford that.

I've been in that position, too; took an elective course in the summer to keep from being booted, then changed my degree in the following autumn. Hope it works out for you!

Almost makes me want to throttle the son of a woman my mother works with; he did the same B.Comp program, but he did all the reading and research at a rate that he finished a year early and didn't bother to finish his courses. She keeps telling him to go back, but he's happy with his job. The snot! XD
