Now I really can't eat. My top front teeth just go down on the bottom wire thanks to a slight overbite. Everything I eat for the next two years is going to have to be liquid, minced, or mashed. Or not; I'll probably starve to death after only three months...
don't worry..it will go away in a couple of days...

Date: 2008-11-05 01:42 am (UTC)How does the bite change? Do the front teeth begin to change their bite angle that quickly?

Date: 2008-11-05 03:16 am (UTC)There are plenty of softer foods you'll be able to eat too, and they're not all that bad tasting either. Try going to a natural food store, if you have one nearby... you'd be surprised how many there are now compared to 25 years ago when I had mine done.
I lived on hard boiled eggs and quesadillas...

Date: 2008-11-05 05:44 pm (UTC)In the meantime, applesauce and spaghetti and Ramen are useful for those two-days-after-adjustment periods. When my lip got torn up, everything I ate for a month went through a blender so I could suck it up a straw. It was OK for oatmeal, the black bean sauce chicken pureee was, ah, memorable.
Good luck1
