ITV remakes eight Christie mysteries:

"ITV has commissioned eight new Agatha Christie films, among them a remake of "Murder on the Orient Express"...

FINALLY! Finally that horrid modern-set remake with Alfred Molina as Poirot can be consigned to the garbage dump from which it came!

Nothing will beat the 70s version, but if they want to do this right they better get David Suchet. He is the Poirot dude.

That's who they're making it with. ITV is the company that makes all of the Suchet Poirots. It'll be hard to compete with Albert Finney, though; the music, the filming, the cast--can't compete!

Good news. I refused to watch the remake with Molina, but I'll be looking forward to what ITV comes up with. Suchet is top-drawer!

You didn't miss much--it was as bad as it looked from the ads. As long as they don't try to sex it up like they've been doing with some of the other Poirots and the latest Miss Marple adaptations, it should be as good as we think it will be. I doubt they will, though; it'll be harder to get away with that with this one than with any of the others!

I'm not excited. I read the book, and it was mostly just conversations. Doesn't seem ripe for movie adaptation. Let anyone with a sixth-grade reading level pick up the book if they're so interested.
