Well, Oscar's become the third member of our feline extended family to wear a daisy collar. He went out in the morning yesterday, and we expected him to come back in time for his vet appointment at four. He finally rolled in around 9 PM last night, ate a bit, went back out, and rolled back in again this morning. In the afternoon, my mother noticed him licking a big gaping wound on his leg and rushed him to the vet.

They weren't there, but the vet tech got some cream for his wound and wrapped him in the aforementioned daisy collar. He had it off within a minute of arriving home, so my mother decided to try wrapping it instead (the tech didn't want to wrap it). That lasted all of thirty seconds before he shook the whole wrap off and ran upstairs to hide under a bed. He's going back in on Monday, so hopefully a more permanent solution will be reached.

I guess that's what he gets from whoring around all night and day.

Aw, poor Oscar. And... poor you and your mom having to deal with that, heh. Never fun.

we call 'em coneheads! Also, they make soft ones with fabric. You might try looking for one of those.

If you need visual aids, we can dig out the ones Laurie took of Buddha.

I'm not sure our vet has the soft ones. It's just as well that he isn't in it, because he was going nuts with it. Now he's not even licking it (probably got tired of the taste of the cream).

the soft ones are not as restrictive. You might have to go to another store to find one.

you might want to try that long term....good luck!

I hadn't heard either name for them. I just think of 'em as medical collars. Or funnel collars.

"Daisy Collar" could be the name of a seductive, backstabbing anthro-dog.
